Night Supervisor - Transport Branch


We Elevate... Your Responsibilities

  • Supervision and control of site works.
  • Working with the Transport service manager to implement the strategy to deliver the works, ensuring that any risks are mitigated that could adversely affect contract performance.
  • Establishing and promoting a safe working environment for engineers and customers.
  • Establishing and maintaining a close professional working relationship with the customers.
  • Leading, managing and motivating a team of field employees, including Technicians, Engineers and Sub-contractors.
  • Ensuring that the team are aware of and follow company policies, in particular relating to health, safety and quality.
  • Follow a maintenance schedule to ensure that all contractual obligations are met regarding planned preventative maintenances.
  • Issuing nightly works and call reports.
  • Carry out Technical audits and Maintenance Quality Walks to ensure the correct level of quality if being maintained.
  • Carry out HSE audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Carry out vehicle audits to ensure engineers are taking proper care of their company vehicles.
  • Carry out audits of spare parts held on site to ensure the use of spares is being properly managed and recorded on engineers paperwork.
  • Liaising with the Operations Manager to highlight and plan required repairs or planned improvements.
  • Ad-hoc reporting following customer or management requests and analysis of results.
  • Coaches individuals on an on-going basis and identifies training & development needs where appropriate; as well as rewarding success and providing support to those who are not performing to the required standard.
  • Ensure all service paperwork has been completed correctly, checked and delivered to the office in a timely manner each shift rotation.
  • Attendance at Client and site meetings as required.
  • Undertaking other relevant tasks that may be required from time to time.


Shift Pattern:

  • Night shift
  • 4 on/4 off
  • 7pm-7am

  • A service engineering background with previous experience managing a group of engineers would be advantageous. 
  • Working knowledge of how the Transport Department and Customers operate.
  • Experience of successful service delivery is essential  
  • Planning and organisation.
  • Good communication skills – both written and oral, at different levels.
  • Good motivational and leadership skills - to motivate the team to work together and lead them to achieve the set objectives.     
  • Flexible/adaptable approach.
  • Good IT Skills – Microsoft Office – Excel and Word; Lotus Notes.
