Your Skills

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION OVERVIEW:

Organizes the upstream flows with suppliers to help improve the manufacturing SC performance and align with material flow needed at manufacturing plant. Responsible to run the MRP, develop forecast and drive communication with vendors.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Describe the key responsibilities of the position in order of importance and identify % of time spent on that responsibility.

Production:

  • Tracking the company’s current inventory.
  • Analysing available data from demand planning, inventory reports and other resources.
  • Recommending changes to the way the company handles inventory.
  • Anticipating factors that might influence demand, such as seasonal slowdowns or upcoming promotions.
  • Managing the storage of inventory and materials.
  • Maintaining enough inventory to meet demands without overstocking.
  • Collaborating with operations, production, and other supply chain department team members.
  • Participating in kaizen events on shop floor to help drive material flow and establish appropriate replenishment signals in ERP.
  • Analyses excess and obsolete inventory and sets up cadence to track, monitor and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Preparing forecasts of supply needs, including anticipated demand for a product or service based on historical data and current trends.
  • Collaborate with internal and external Customers and Suppliers to prioritize and deliver products and services that meet or exceed the business needs with attention to simplicity of design and ease of use/interaction.
  • Utilize internal systems to proactively identify and communicate key drivers and proposed solutions to service and inventory issues.

Leadership:

  • Guide and assist other personnel as directed.
  • Provide suggestions and ideas toward continuous improvement
  • Coordinate/lead special projects as required. Projects include complex new product launch evaluation, asset utilization studies, supply chain cost optimization opportunities and others as assigned

 

 

 

 

Your Experience

 Prior Experience as a Production Planner

 Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills        

Exceptional Organizational and Time Management Skills

Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

APICS Certification

Proficient in ERP and MS Office
