Materials and Logistics Supervisor (Headquarters)

Primary Function

The Materials and Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for managing all internal and external warehousing spaces as well as the flow of production materials for Schindler Canada. This role will be responsible for implementing a new inventory system and designing layouts for optimal efficiency and space utilization. They will also be involved in sourcing and negotiating with vendors to obtain best price and service for materials and logistics services.  


  • Manage all warehousing for Schindler Canada
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production requirements and maintain accuracy through cycle counts, control systems and accurate forecasting
  • Responsible for storage, tracking, scheduling and calibration of tools
  • Support Supervisors and Coordinators with ordering, tracking, receiving and scheduling deliveries to and from all the existing and new project sites
  • Perform incoming inspection of all materials and complete a root cause analysis as well as vendor chargebacks for all defective and missing items
  • Manage the pick and pack of materials from warehouse storage floors
  • Perform required SAP entries related to warehouse inventory including issuing purchase order, goods receipt and managing open orders
  • Support in the sourcing and negotiating with current and new vendors
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
  • Responsible for safe working environment and adherence to Schindler’s safety policies

Mobility needs you


  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields. SCMA, PMAC or other related certification would be an asset;
  • 5+ years experience in Inventory/Materials management;
  • 3+ years experience in Logistics management; 

Critical Skills

  • Experience with inventory management software, SAP is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse and materials management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives and track the results
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage change in a fast pace environment
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CPIM, PMAC, SCMA) will be a plus
