Associate Mechanical Engineer (Layout)

Mobility is the goal

The Associate Layout Engineer in this role will create layout drawings for modernization elevators. The drawings will be non-standard range, based on system calculations, building drawings and in compliance with code and standards.  The Application Layout Engineer will also need to have skills to conceptualize custom designs and perform application engineering calculations and to engineer and order commodity level projects.  The Associate Layout Engineer is also to apply and conform to Schindler norms, procedures and ONs for drawings/layouts in collaboration with the assigned engineer.













Job Duties






Order Commodity Elevator products per Job requirements using Schindler Engineering Tools



Create and Update Layouts per Job Requirements using CAD tools (2D and 3D)



Create and Update Contract drawings CAD tools (2D and 3D)

Support more senior engineers by attending job surveys, creating custom designs for mounting components.

Identify and propose Quasi- standard designs

Create quasi standard drawings and write preliminary ordering information in support.

B.S. - Mechanical Engineering



2 years AutoCad Experience or Equivalent









Engineering Skills (Knowledge to be Learned)



Must Meet SDR Performance Metrics (On time, Quality)

Understand and comply to Drafting Processes - ON's



Support Field Survey (Custom Mtg Designs)



BIM (optional) - Basic Revit Skills (Update PL Models)


Perform Architectural/Structural Drawing Reviews



FEA Analysis / Beam Analysis



Knowledge of A17.1 Code - pertaining to Layouts



Trained in Schindler Safety requirements








Layout Drawings



Contract Drawings



Commodity Ordering



Read Schematics - Create Minor circuits

Beam calculations





Engineering Behaviors



Communication Skills (Verbal and Email) within Engineering team and Manager

Collaboration Skills (Engineering Team and Field)
