Scope of Responsibility                
  The Engineer develops and applys elevator and escalator components using engineering fundamentals and established practices, procedures and guidelines. The Engineer provides design solutions to assigned safety, performance, cost, reliability, and maintainability problems requiring the use of engineering methods and established procedures and guidelines as well as provides effective task management to accomplish specified technical objectives on time.  The Engineer will lead more junior staff in resolving technical issues and providing solutions. The Engineer will assist Engineering Management in defining new techniques to improving process flow and eliminating defects.
This position will support sales in bidding competitive projects and winning customer awards via technical support; to applying, ordering and custom engineering solutions for defined contract requirements; to field support, troubleshooting of field installations, resolving customer issues; to coordinating program implementation via coordination with research and development to fulfilling the corporate operations with a successful product line.
Job Duties                  
  Coordinate with field (sales reps/field superintendents/project managers) - on Engineering layouts and orders
  Order custom Elevator products per Job requirements using Schindler Engineering Tools  
  Coordinate Layouts and Contract drawings per Job requirements         
  Create Custom designs to meet Job requirements          
  Lead junior Engineering staff on Engineering tasks          
  Travel - up to 20%

Position Requirements(Knowledge Requirements)          
  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related Technology Degree)         
  2 years experience as Engineer              
  Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written        
  Maintains a positive and professional attitude in a highly demanding environment    
  Collaboration Skills (Engineering Team and Field)
Performance Requirements                
  Successfully performs Engineering I requirements          
  Must Meet SDR Performance Metrics(Ontime, Quality)
  Technical Reviewer (OI/CR Config Review)            
  Analyze new Technologies/Elevator products          
  Prepare and Conduct Training for Dept            
  Comply with all Eng. Processes - ON's            
  Full Knowledge of Safety Go/No Go Rules - HRFE Qualified        
Engineering Skills (Knowledge to be Learned)            
  Create/Modify Dept Processes - MDC (All)
  Compliant to Lab/KW Safety Process - MDC(All)          
  Perform Advanced Architectural/Structural Drawing Reviews - Define, Communicate Resolutions - MDC (MOR ME)
  NAS/CUS Ordering - MDC (HAN, MOR ME)            
  Eng IT Testing (Cadre, Config, QM, IPC, CP release)  - MDC(All)        
  Create Complex Schematics - MDC (MOR EE)          
  Knowledge of A17.1 Code and Local Codes
