EH&S Manager

Mobility is the goal

  • Continuous inspection of project sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment.
  • Verification of tools and equipment to ensure good quality.
  • Promoting safe practices on site.
  • Creating and enforcing safety guidelines and programs.
  • When requested, participate and support incident investigations.
  • Responding to workers’ safety concerns.
  • Arranges OSHA-mandated evaluations of the site.
  • Coordinates all issues regarding hazardous materials or waste.
  • Assisting with the preparation of a construction health and safety plan.
  • Attending project planning meetings and collaborating with SEC Superintendents and Project managers.
 

Mobility needs you

  • Ability to use and navigate a lap-top/tablet and desk-top computer.
  • Highly proficient with using MS Office suite products.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other related environmental, health and safety regulations (e.g Department of Buildings DOB).
  • EHS Audit skills training and experience.
  • Strong oral presentation and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, requiring minimal day-to-day direction or oversight.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to write, review and edit technical reports, executive summaries, memoranda and presentations.
  • Ability to collect and analyze relevant data on spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet restrictive deadlines.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Delivers clear, concise and influential messages, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent relationship building and influence skills.
  • Ability to develop credibility and rapport with field technicians and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Travel is moderate, approximately 25% within K01.   Most time will be spent in NYC.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in environmental health and safety).
  • Familiar with the general contractor process in New York metropolitan area.
  • 8-10+ years’ experience in the general contractor realm.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards with regard to construction.
  • CSP/CIH Certification preferred
  • Ability to train, influence and motivate team members
