Truck Driver - Toronto

Mobility is the goal

Primary Function 

The Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring effective distribution of material and parts in support of the construction and modernization departments.  

Responsibilities 

  • Drive vehicles in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations for all departments including new installations, existing installations and modernization
  • Coordinate deliveries of material to job sites as requested
  • Determine the most practical and time efficient route while avoiding truck-restricted routes
  • Locate new delivery locations in new areas
  • Load and unload freight
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition, and in accordance with Schindler’s Fleet Policy
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
 

Mobility needs you

Knowledge 

  • High School Education
  • Fork Lift Truck Operators License
  • License to operate truck in accordance with provincial requirements 

Critical Skills 

  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in French and English
  • Organization: Possess excellent organization skills with the ability to balance high volume of activities and changing priorities
  • Problem Solving: Information seeking and achievement orientation, ability to solve problems both independently and collaboratively  
  • Teamwork: Ability to interact with all levels and foster a teamwork relationship
