NI MOD Key Account & Large Projects Director
We are looking to recruit a Key Accounts & Large Projects Sales Director to the New Installations/Modernisation and Large Projects HubTeam based in our Addlestone Office. They will be responsible for developing, implementing, and driving sales strategies and initiatives for key account customers in UK & Ireland to deliver on the KG’s sustainable growth agenda. They will achieve the highest possible share of wallet of key accounts customers in the New Installation & Modernisation market. Equally, they will work to secure the highest possible share of large & high-rise projects which define the UK & Ireland’s main cities skyline.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, manage, and acquire new and current key account customers, ensuring high share of wallet, solid sales pipeline and customer satisfaction.
- Lead the bids for the large, infrastructure & high-rise projects and ensure high probability of winning.
- Gain insight on market dynamics and competition to define growth strategies & actions for market share increase.
- Increase share of wallet for global/national key accounts, anticipating and responding to customer needs.
- Coordinate, prepare, and negotiate all bid requests, frame contracts, tenders, and associated offers for key accounts, using Schindler sales guidelines, tools, approved processes, and KG Limit of Authorities.
- Act as a single point of contact to ensure fast and efficient solutions to key account issues.
People Management
- Lead a team of Key Account Managers and ensure full market coverage of large, infrastructure and high-rise schemes through connection to all main developers, VT/cost consultants, architects & contractors.
- Lead the team by providing clear expectations and standards, delegating responsibilities, and holding employees accountable, recognising employee achievements, and addressing performance gaps and fostering team commitment.
- Drive the adoption of Schindler core values as well as a high-performance culture.
- Ensure long term development of team capabilities through systematic and effective individual development plans.
Sales Leadership
- Lead and support sales negotiations, including the development of sales proposals in line with group using Schindler sales guidelines, tools, approved processes, and KG Limit of Authorities.
- Review with Senior Management Team sales performance and market progress as well as challenges, and propose corrective actions.
- Monitor sales KPIs: bid/hit-rates, won/lost-analysis, discounts and pricing analysis, benchmarks, competition, market share etc, to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor competitor activity, products, bid levels and price levels using only information gathered in full accordance with Schindler’s Code of Conduct and Anti-Trust guidelines. Provide feedback to various Product Lines to ensure Schindler products are at least equal to or preferably ahead of competitor products and services, both technically and price wise.
Customer Orientation
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers: main contractors, developers, consultants, cost consultants & architects.
- Identify and pursue major potential customers to drive and support strategic growth objectives.
Policy and Process Management
- Actively support Health and Safety initiatives by participating in training activities and promoting a culture of safety.
- Analyse, prepare and present sales reports.
- Coordinate and provide recommendations for pricing strategies.
- All employees are required to work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
- Employees must comply with Company Health & Safety requirements and set a personal example of safe behaviour.
- Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to Schindler Ltd occupational health and safety management system.
Experience & qualifications required:
- Educated to university degree level.
- Proven strong international experience in key account management.
- Demonstrable experience in proven strategy creation yielding results.
- Previous sales leadership experience with responsibility for teams across various geographical locations.
- Sales management experience in the construction, manufacturing and/or technology industries or industry sectors that emphasise sales management processes, discipline in execution and relationships.
- Proven experience working in a customer centric/service-related industry.
- Previous operational experience.
- Ability to balance the longer-term strategic goals with the short-term business performance.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, with customer service etiquette.
- Leadership skills to build, direct and develop a skilled and a collaborative team.
- Excellent time management, planning and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- A change driver and manager; proactively seeking opportunities to improve business processes and interactions, facilitating the organisation to develop to the next level; with team care and emotional intelligence.
