Service Technician/Repair Engineer
We are currently recruiting for a Service Technician/Repair Engineer to join our Team based out of our Addlestone Office, but serving London and the South East. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out planned lift repairs and contractual works and works quoted outside the service contract. Works will include a range of repair works from minor repairs to larger refurb and upgrade works. Both individual working and working within a team as needed. They will also be responsible for the completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open non-conformity to current legislation or standards and adhere to all company safety and conduct procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out repairs, small modifications, major repairs, minor works and routine replacement of components
- Typical repairs to include, roping, divertor changes, motor changes, safety edges, autodial units, brake shoes etc
- Working as per company RAMs and procedures
- Checking the lift function as part of repair works, checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise temperature and power supply using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment
- Reporting back of additional works needed and general condition of the lift
- Carry out the routine inspection service visits
- Complete all paperwork, accurate records for works completion and invoicing
- All employees are required to work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements
- Employees must comply with Company Health & Safety requirements and set a personal example of safe behaviour at all times
- Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to Schindler Ltd occupational health and safety management system
- All employees are required to work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and Schindler Core Values to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group Safety requirements
- Employees are required to attend all relevant Training Sessions
- Employees are required to carry out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate Policy
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in Lift Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred (min 2 years)
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift maintenance
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines and flexibilty required
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills at different levels (client/Service Leader/Insp
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.

- Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
- Expert fault finding and diagnostic skills – ‘go to person’.
- Good administration skills and holds a full UK Driving Licence
