Repair Engineer/Apprentice Improver

We are currently recruiting for an Repair Engineer/Apprentice Improver to join the Team in our South Region based out of our Ash Office in Kent. The successful candidate will assist the Lead Engineer with all aspects of the repair business including contractual and chargeable repairs and upgrades.  Also to carry out maintenance and safety checks on the service portfolio if required.  Travel to the work sites within the South Region, is required.  You will need to be punctual, enthusiastic and self-motivated to learn.  

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures as required (PPE, PDA etc).
  • To assist with the rectification of faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information.
  • All employees are required to work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current company and UK legal requirements.
  • Employees must comply with Company Health & Safety requirements and set a personal example of safe behaviour at all times.
  • Employee must adhere to the use of a handheld device for reporting work activities and any future technology introduced to enhance real time reporting

 

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Applicants should have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (A-C) or BTEC Engineering
  • A keen interest in engineering
  • Customer service skills
  • Logical thinking
  • Good practical skills
  • Analytical Personal qualities
