Global Logistics Operations Excellence Manager

As the Global Logistics Operations Excellence Manager, you inspire the journey towards industry leading Integrated Logistics practices, aiming at delivering an outstanding customer experience combined with financial performance, through optimization of our Logistics footprint. Acting initially as a Subject Matter Expert in the Design of our global GSC function (Processes, People, Systems) and lead the Transformation toward target state, you will then pivot toward management and coordination of Schindler’s GSC Operations, through Process, Systems and Organization performance optimizations.
Main responsibilities include:
Design & Transform
- Support GSC function Head to design target state (Processes, People, Systems) and associated roadmap.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert within cross-functional “Global Logistics” project team.
- Build up and deploy capabilities to improve our end-to-end Logistic flows.
- Build a futureproof Integral Network Design that meets Business requirements and enhance operational capabilities, cost efficiency and carbon footprint.
Manage & Coordinate
- Coordinate and ensure proper execution of Supply Chain logistics processes and Standard Operating procedures (Transportation, Warehousing, Loading optimization, etc.)
- Liaise with key stakeholders in Procurement, Field Operations, Supply Chain, Controlling and other relevant functions.
- Lead Logistics community.

Further requirements may include:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering).
- 10 years of related supply chain, manufacturing operations, international logistics experience, ideally within Industrial equipment production sector or any Make-to-Order / Engineer-to-Order environment.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing global supply chain strategies and logistics processes to optimize operational efficiency and customer service levels.
- Experience with digital innovations within large, international organizations. Extensive experience in the realization and implementation of complex projects at the intersection of Supply Chain and IT in an international environment.
- Combine solid end-to-end Supply Chain practice with expertise with a strong strategic and analytical mindset.
- Extensive knowledge of Logistics processes/practices/metrics (including, be not limited to): Logistics Network Design, Transport Management, Warehousing and Distribution, On Time Delivery…)
- Past exposure to SAP ERP environment will be an advantage.
- Strong leadership skills to empower and develop people, building up communities as well as assuring cross department collaboration.
- Excellent understanding of financial principles and ability to manage budgets effectively.
- Professional certifications in Logistics/Supply Chain/operations research and/or LEAN-Six Sigma are desirable (e.g. APICS CLTD, CSCP or LEAN Green/Black Belt)
- Fluent in English. German and other languages are a plus.
- Frequent international travel is expected.
