Night Technical Support/Call Out Engineer


We Elevate... Your Responsibilities

To carry out service fault rectification and planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms to our portfolio of lift equipment, located within the London Underground and London Overground environments.  Improvement of equipment condition to minimise the time between technical call backs and to reduce any unplanned lift equipment downtime. Working a rolling 12 hour, 4 on/4 off day shift pattern. Hours of work to alternate between either 19:00 – 07:00 or 20:00 – 08:00, with a one-hour break. Works may also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components. Adherence to all company safety and conduct procedures.


  • To rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures.
  • Providing technical support to our field engineers and office.
  • Diagnosing and resolution of persistent and intermittent faults on our portfolio of lifts located within the London Underground/TfL environments.
  • Development of the engineers working within their team.
  • Liaising with our clients on technical matters.
  • Liaising with their colleagues on the night shifts.
  • Checking the lift function as part of maintenance, using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Carry out the routine inspection, adjustment, of lift installations in accordance with approved procedures.  Reinstate lift and complete service documentation.
  • Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. 


Shift Pattern:

  • Night shift
  • 4 on/4 off
  • 7pm-7am or 8pm-8am

  • Proven experience in Lift Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 4 or equivalent minimum in Lift maintenance
  • Full UK driving License
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Flexibility
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Management/LU Inspectors)
