Join us as a
Service Engineer
We are currently recruting for a Lift Service Engineer to join our Team in the South of the Midlands and Oxford. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA etc). This is a permanent and full time role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning
- Checking the lift function as part of maintenance, checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise temperature and power supply using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment
- Carry out the routine inspection, adjustment, of lift installations in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift and complete service log cards and PDA
- Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information
- Employees must adhere to the use of a handheld device for reporting work activities and any future technology introduced to enhance real time reporting
- Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to Schindler Ltd occupational health and safety management system
- All employees are required to work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and Schindler Core Values to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group Safety requirements
- Employees are required to attend all relevant Training Sessions
- Employees are required to carry out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate Policy
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in Lift Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift maintenance
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Flexibility
- Good problem solving skills
- Good communication skills at different levels (client/Inspectors/Managers)
- Full UK driving License required
