Objectives of the function

• Ensure contunity of materail to Production

• Zero Line Stoppage

 

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Imports material planning follow-up, management of deliveries from supplier end to factory including customs clearance.

• Responsible to release of forecast, PO’s & schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.

• Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule by ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time to meet production requirements, in the most cost-effective way. Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production schedules.

• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit.

• Monitor OTD of Suppliers and assist sourcing lead in creating improvement plan for achievement of supplier OTD.

• Implement engineering changes to minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability.

• Resolve supplier grievances regarding payment with the help of Sourcing team & Finance team.

• Participate in various development plans and active testing of SAP updates.

• Drive the cost optimization activity using various platforms to reduce cost per contract.

• Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.

• Track progress of reject notes and chase replacement parts or credit.

• Monitor the performance and selection of suppliers in association with Quality Dept.

• Attend relevant meetings as and when required.

• Assist with the purchasing of components / services if required.

• To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their Head of Unit from time to time.

• Responsible for handling of steel imports planning and optimization of steel inventory.
