R&D Test Framework Full Stack Developer (m/f/d)

 

We Elevate... Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be part of our Milan Software Development Hub, an agile team that develops modern software tools to help shape the next-generation elevator’s software to meet high quality and safety standards for Schindler’s products.

 

The development of innovative elevator software requires a proper test infrastructure framework. Here at Schindler, we use an online platform that can support testers with automated test executions, software updates, and configuration downloads. A full team is dedicated to the development and maintenance of this online platform, and we are looking for another member of this team who would act as a Full stack developer since this platform makes extended use of databases and requires both back-end and front-end skills. 

 

Your new challenges will include:

  • Engineering and extending our test framework, proposing the best way to accommodate users’ requests and feedback 

  • Developing back-end features (database queries and data handling) and designing the graphical interface of the framework, using UX tools such as Figma 

  • Ensuring the smooth running of the platform and resolving issues reported by users 

  • Extending the software to be compatible with different infrastructures introduced by the company and assure continuous improvements by proposing innovative ideas

  • Perform both code reviews and technical sessions with the team to discuss implementation choices

You are a self-directed and self-organized, highly responsible, and reliable team player. Your good analytical skills pair with your hands-on approach and open mind and for new technologies and agile development.

 

  • Master’s degree in computer science, electronics and/or software development 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development, preferably as a full-stack developer 

  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art software engineering practices and CI/CD process 

  • Developed and deployed a RESTful web service using: React TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, SQL, GraphQL, Flask, Redis, Hasura 

  • Experience user of software development tools such as PostgreSQL, Docker, Git, Bash, Jenkins, Figma, Cypress (Java, Linux, Material UI, Kubernetes understanding of software architecture and software design are a plus)

  • Proficient level of English
