Credit Controller (parental leave cover)

 

Your main responsibilities

  • This is a parental leave cover and a full time role for 6 to 8 months. 
  • Based in Rosebank Road, Avondale

 

Be at the forefront of our financial operations, part of a team of professionals and help drive the development and execution of effective credit control strategies. 

Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining strong client relationships, minimising financial risk, and contributing to the overall financial health of Schindler Lifts NZ. 

 

As a Credit Controller, you will ensure debt collection on customer accounts is proactively managed with a real focus on timely payments of invoices. Oversee a number of debt portfolios, managing direct debit failures, account holds, external collections and minimising write-offs on customer accounts. A vital part of the process requries strong relationship building and regular engagement with customers, stakeholders, and Schindlers teams. 

 

Your role will involve: 

  • Communicate with customers with a focus on reducing the over all accounts receivable through outbound calls or written communications. 
  • Document all customer communication and prepare any necessary documents needed.
  • Particiapte and lead monthly meeting with the business partners to review top accounts impacting the financial performance of the business lines. 
  • Responsible for resolving customer disputes through contract review or negotiation and escalating if necessary. 
  • Tracking of and filing liens on properties and setting up legal/ collection files. 
  • Review unapplied payments to help resolve all uncliamed property items for assigned districts. 
  • Prepare and analyse reports including but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Bad Debt Allowance, Collection and Forecast.
  • Support billing and other finance & IT functions. 
 

What you bring

What are we looking for:

  • 3 - 4 years of work experience in Accounting, Credit and Collections and customer service. 
  • Customer Service experience is required.
  • Working knowledgable of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. 
  • Preferrably with Account Manager experience. 
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Good analytical, time management, and organizational skills are necessary to efficiently perform daily functions. 
  • Self- motivation, strong follow up, and closure skills are required to achieve their results in a timely manner. 
  • Eligibility to work permanently in New Zealand (citizen or permanent resident).
