Deputy Manager - Procurement

 

Your main responsibilities

Objectives of the function : 

  • Develop and implement a strategy to ensure functioning in synchronization with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings.
  • Ensuring optimal supplier performance, price & cost out/avoidance performance

Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships, and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base

Responsibilities : 

  1. Identification, Assess & Onboard right new suppliers
  2. Developing cost competent supply chain for Heavy Fabrication, Sheetmetal, Machining, Aluminum & Plastic commodity parts
  3. Planning and conducting the required supplier on-site audits including Supplier Assessment & Risk Assessment. Verifying the effective closure of corrective action plan items by the supplier side
  4. Implementing various cost calculation techniques e.g. Zero base costing, activity base costing etc. to estimate & budget component prices
  5. Drawing reading with GD & T, accordingly, manufacturing process finalization & agreement with supplier & INDU team
  6. Should have knowledge of import & export incoterms
  7. Calculating & analysing landed cost to various global zones
  8. Should have knowledge of local & Seaworthy packaging concepts, able to identify right packaging for parts
  9. Tooling/Fixturing cost estimation, budgeting & negotiation with Suppliers
  10. Monthly collect, analyse & report Cost out information locally & globally
  11. Supplier capacity ramp up as per business requirement
  12. Closely collaborating with the category teams to support the implementation of category strategy and achieve cost saving through sourcing from qualified suppliers locally and globally
  13. Driving cost improvement projects – Idea generation /VAVE

Authorities :

  1. New supplier selection/onboarding
  2. New supplier price/norms finalization
  3. Localization or Make/Buy of component decision
  4. Based on agreement periodic price settlement with suppliers
  5. Create, input, raise & approve price requests in SAP (ERP/ARIBA) system
  6. Supplier tooling/fixturing price finalization
  7. Supplier Escalation/De-escalation based on supplier performance
  8. Supplier SOB decision
  9. Change implementation decision based on cost wrt to Business case
  10. Cost saving Projects Business case
 

What you bring

Education : B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical. MBA will be added advantage

Professional skills : 

  • Strong in data analytics, data presentation & reporting
  • Should be competent in drawing reading & process assessment
  • Zero base costing of Heavy Fabrication, sheet metal, machining, Aluminum Die casting & Extrusion components
  • Proficient in English
 

Professional experience :

  • 9 - 10 years of overall strategic sourcing experience, having exposure of mechanical categories & commodities within manufacturing set up
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Good Understanding of managing the spend
  • Develop existing supplier base
  • Cost Positioning has to be strong
  • Strong Foundation in Sourcing

Standard Awareness : 

  • ISO 14001,45001, 9001 & ISO 50001 EnMS standard awareness
  • Occupational Health, Safety, environment, Quality & Energy Management policy awareness
 

Languages : Marathi, English, Hindi

IT : MS Office
