Manager- Logistics (OCC Operations)
Your main responsibilities
Objectives of the function:-
Oversee all daily warehouse operations from receiving and storing goods to put-away, picking, packing, and dispatching, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and safety while managing staff, inventory levels, and optimizing space and workflows to meet supply chain goals.
Key duties: Leading teams, coordinating with logistics, implementing SOP’s, managing equipment’s, ensuring compliance, and reporting on performance to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
Responsibilities :-
Safety & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct equipment checks, and maintain a hazard free environment.
- Ensure adherence to company policies related with Safety and CoC, while dealing with all the stake holders inside company premises.
Operations Management:
- Direct daily activities (Receiving, Put-away, storing goods, rack management, MHE management, people and product safety, stock transfer to Palwal, claim /AMR/RSC dispatches, picking and packing, kitting, marshalling and shipping/dispatches).
- Conduct daily shopfloor meeting for better coordination and alignment among stakeholders for smooth operations.
- Optimize vehicle turnaround time.
- Ensure site returns as per standards (floor and system).
- Maintain FIFO for all items stored in OCC (including shelf-life SKU’s and hazardous SKU’s) & work with planner to salvage non-moving and redundant stocks.
- Develop and maintain warehouse work instructions / process for all tasks
- Evaluate complaints / claims / Quality NCs received against shipments and supplies and take appropriate preventive action. Ensure effective control on daily operations to make sure ZERO customer complaints/claims/NC’s.
- Responsible for scrap segregation & disposal after management approval.
- Evaluate service levels, review processes and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and establish and execute action plans.
- Responsible for SAP transactions testing’s & implementation of CP, CMO & NPD changes.
- Continuously improve warehouse operations using lean enterprise practices.
- Responsible for audits & prepare and maintain IMS & EnMS documentation and enforce people follows laid down processes and standards.
- Put effective control on asset management.
- To Lead improvement & Digitization projects and ensure timely completion.
Staff leadership:
- Schedule, train, motivate, and evaluate warehouse personnel, assigning tasks and managing performance. Promote improvement culture (KAIZEN and other improvement initiatives) and ensure team achieves goals in line with business requirement.
Process Improvement: Analyze KPI’s, optimize layout, and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Logistics & fulfilment: Coordinate with logistics (transport) teams and ensure effective control.
Inventory Control: Monitor stock-outs, conduct counts (PIC – Perpetual Inventory Control), track shipments and minimize loss to ensure accuracy.
Budgetary Control: Participate in budget preparation and exercise budgetary control over warehouse operations.
Risk mitigation and BCM (Business Continuity Management): Anticipate long term risk over supply / dispatches and strategic action plan for risk mitigation.
Goals:
- Maximize warehouse productivity, efficiency and meet fulfil customer expectations.
- Ensure accuracy in inventory and order fulfilment.
- Maintain high safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Optimize space utilization and resource allocation.
Authority:
- Authorised to escalate planning and transport related issues to concerned manager.
- Approve leave of his direct repartees and contract staff.
- Conduct meeting to discuss operational issues.
- Report any safety violation found anywhere inside the factory premises.
- Levy sanction as per sanction matrix
- Take disciplinary action as per organisation sanction matrix.
- Assign task or change the duties and responsibilities if required.
- Nominate team members for award & recognition based on criteria and performance.
- Evaluate the performance of team members and suggest for development plan.
What you bring
Education: Minimum Graduation (Engineering or Non-engineering background) & preferably MBA
Professional skills :
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Execellent communication with staff, management and external partners.
- SAP knowledge
Professional experience - 10+ years
Standard Awareness :
- Occupational Health, Safety, environment & Quality policy awareness
- ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and EnMS standard awareness
Languages : English, Hindi, Marathi
