Plant Controller

 

Your main responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of financial leadership at the Clinton, North Carolina Schindler Escalator and Step facilities.

 

  • The position has high visibility within Finance, North American Operation Management and Global Operations management, and has matrix reporting lines to division global CFO, local plant head and local supply chain controlling.
  • The position is responsible for general finance management of the plant, including but not limited to business controlling, billing & costing activities, general ledger postings, monthly financial closing and reporting, budget and forecast planning, investment management, net working capital management, etc.
  • Continuous tracking and monitoring of cost development, work closely with local management team to assess the key drivers of cost position changes and drive product cost reduction and operation efficiency of the plant.
  • Coordinate consignment program including reconciliation of consignment withdrawals with vendors, making payment arrangements and reconciliation of the consignment inventory.
  • Coordinate and implement various business projects as deemed required.
 

What you bring

Education/Experience:

  • 10+ year Supply Chain Finance control experience of which latest 5+ years in finance controller role in manufacturing facilities.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance background, MBA or Advanced Certification Preferred.
  • Experience with large multi-national business, capability to work in an international and multicultural team.

 

Competencies:

  • Must have very good verbal skills and good written skills to communicate effectively with onsite and remote stakeholders (cross-function peers, HQs, SSC, etc.).
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills, ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Must have goal setting and project management skills, can apply logic thinking, systemic solution finding and sound execution to make things happen.
  • Ability to effectively present information to shop floor employees, management & staff. 

 

Computer Skills:

  • Previous SAP experience is preferred. Implementation of ERP system is a plus.
  • High level of proficiency with software applications, including Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and general database maintenance.

 

Travel: 

<25% domestic travel is required, to headquarters location and to support projects at other SC locations.
