Sr Controls Engineer
Your Skills
Lead the development and engineering support of electrical controls for the escalator product lines. This role will develop and design new electrical solutions, support field installers, provide training to electrical team and prepare cost evaluations as required.
- Design industrial automation systems, safety systems, andcontrollers.
- Controller commissioning: program start-up, debug and install of automation systems.
- Responsible for troubleshooting equipment and validating the control systems to ensure reliability in operating environments.
- Develop technical scope of work documents and estimate time and resources needed for the controls aspect of projects.
- Active participation in communicating and suggesting company goals.
- Communicate and provide status reports to management.
Your Experience
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and/or equivalent job experience.
- Proficiency in Codesys, RSLOGIX, and/or structure text, and/or C++, or VB.
- Experience in the design of PLCs (ABB, Allen Bradley and/or Siemens), hands on experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is a plus.
- Proven expertise with with PLC-based control systems, and various communication protocols, including Ehternet IP, Remote I/O, ModBus TCP/IP and serial.
- Experience designing Graphical User Interfaces HMI (Proface or Schneider) is a plus.
- 7+ years related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge and understanding of PLC controls and programming is a must.
- PLC software programming, Controls hardware design and configuration experience.
- Experience with control panel design and assembly equipment ideal but not required.
- Working knowledge and experience with electrical codes and safety standards ideal but not required.
- Office 365, advanced Excel user, ACAD experience for electrical drawings, E3 or similar ideal.
