We Elevate... Your Responsibilities

In this role you lead, coordinate, and develop a team of embedded software engineers developing and maintaining current and legacy embedded elevator control software. You make sure the delivery of product releases are on time, on budget as well as ensuring the efficient evolution of the software platform and used development practices. Futhermore, you create, maintain, and drive the roadmap for the different control software platforms. The main tasks include:

 

  • Leading and developing a team of software engineers developing and maintaining software for controlling elevators and integrating with surrounding systems
  • Working with product managers and different stakeholders to define and align vision and requirements
  • Aligning software development with partnering disciplines including requirements engineering, hardware development, and testing
  • Establishing, maintaining, and communicating platform for embedded control system platform. Defining, estimating, negotiating and communicating software release scope. Aligning projects and resolve conflicting priorities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Defining and executing development plans to meet cost, schedule, and quality requirements
  • Managing workforce skill set and capacity for near and long-term needs
  • Attracting and retaining talent
  • Setting up, managing and tracking contracts with external suppliers for budget adherence and delivery of agreed scope. Planning and balancing workload of the team
  • Setting clear goals and creating a collaborative work environment based on ownership, accountability, and trust
  • Selecting and managing third party solutions and service providers
  • Driving adoption of state-of-the-art development and management practices, processes, and tools and ensure continuous improvements
  • Providing technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to software engineers in implementation of established architectures and designs

You are an excellent communicator with leaderships skills who is able to energize and develop people, and who can drive change. You have a good understanding of the technology landscape and trends in embedded systems. Further requirements may include:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in software development through all stages of the project life cycle
  • Leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for building complex software products and establishing high performing software engineering teams
  • Strong software engineering capabilities and experience with safety-critical and/or distributed control systems
  • Extensive knowledge of various architecture and design principles and technologies for real-time embedded systems
  • Experience with Agile methods and contemporary development practices
