PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION OVERVIEW:

Projects will be related to safety, quality, delivery (OTD), cost, inventory. This role will have 5 value stream engineers reporting directly to them. Tasks that this team will be expected to perform include, but are not limited to the following listed below. 
•    Gemba Kaizen 
•    Value Stream Mapping 
•    Factory Insourcing to reduce DPC and improve Delivery Performance
•    Plant Direct Labor Efficiency Improvement   
•    Quality – Process Improvement 
•    Safety - Process Improvement 
•    TPM in Factory 
•    PFMEA 
•    5S and Lean Activities
•    CCQL initiatives
•    New Product Introduction at primarily internal SC sites – F3 and code related items.

 

Individual responsibilities of this role:

•    Responsible and accountable for a Continuous Improvement program that focuses primarily on enhancements at both the Factory and OCC. 
•    Creation and Deployment of assessment tools to evaluate our maturity on 5S and Lean activities. 
•    Responsible to employ of Lean methodologies and tools to help us accomplish business objectives both for hourly and salary team members in supply chain.
•    Responsibility includes the management of New Production introduction (Examples: F3, New Code, MOL – standard change management) thru the set-up of new machines and processes within the internal Schindler KW’s production for both new and old lines.
•    Contribute directly to CCQL initiatives with new ideas and/or direct execution of key projects. 
•    Create and Deploy a LEAN transformation roadmap for supply chain production sites in both York and Hanover. 
•    Create a strategic plan of the projects that will help us optimize our direct labor efficiency and improve profitability.
•    Support and execute the Make vs. Buy Strategy with focus primarily on the insourcing projects that will improve DPC and also mitigate the current OTD risks.
•    Manage a team of Value Stream Engineers that core tasking will include optimization of the operational side of the supply chain. 
•    Ensures that project/department goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
•    Direct Supervisor with full authority of personnel Actions.
•    Support both our Safety and Quality goals by conducting safety and quality Kaizen Events thru facilitation and direct leadership.

•    Quality – Process Improvements. Example: Built in Quality Engineering Solutions
•    Safety - Process Improvement. Example: Sharp Edges Initiatives and Social Distancing Work Cell Layout
•    CCQL initiatives
•    Factory Insourcing to reduce DPC and improve Delivery Performance
•    Plant Direct Labor Efficiency Improvement   

•    New Product Introduction at primarily internal SC sites – F3 and code related items.

Your Experience

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

1. Continuous Improvement   - 5S, Lean 
2. Manufacturing and Operational Background and Leadership
3. Project Management
4. People Management Experience

5. Bachelor's degree (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
