Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning Intern

 

Your main responsibilities

Schindler Elevator Corporation is currently seeking a Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) Intern for Summer 2025! 

 

Typical responsibilities for this intern will include: 

•    Support the development of Inventory Management processes across the factory using Cycle Count procedures and implement improvements.
•    Assist in establishing operational methods and work standards using measurement techniques (i.e. time/motion studies, takt time evaluations, etc.) 
•    Assist with problem solving (Kaizen) events by establishing course of action to accomplish task and/or project 
•    Provides data analysis for Supply/Demand improvement projects 
•    Regular contact with others outside the work group in a non-union manufacturing environment
•    Support communication initiatives to highlight successful Kaizens and improvement projects.
•    Identify and Create visual management tools in work areas 
•    Creation of Standard Work Instructions via VKS tool that will be used for training for producing our elevator components so Safety, Quality and Delivery are achieved with the optimal cost. 
 

 

What you bring

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Sophomore/Junior Status (Preferred but not required) - Good academic standing.
  • Ability for a high degree of interaction with the Demand/Supply Planning teams and with manufacturing shop floor processes and employees.
  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of administrative, technical, and manufacturing assignments. 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all contacts. 
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player. High level of self-motivation and personal accountability. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office for analyzing data and presenting projects.
