Assistant Project Lead

 

Your main responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Lead, you will assist with the execution of modernization fulfilment tasks for elevators, escalators, and moving walks. This includes coordinating field activities to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The position also involves helping with technical resources and administrative tasks to ensure timely project completion.

 

  • Project Assistance & Coordination - Accurately assist modernization projects to ensure successful close-out at required efficiency and profitability levels.
  • Help with reviewing and booking projects within one (1) week of award, promptly notifying the Manager if completion dates are at risk and providing a proposed action plan and timeline for resolution.
  • Support Project Manager(s) to submit approved documentation to Schindler Engineering and/or local vendors following project booking.
  • Coordinate and follow up with factories, vendors, and the Field Superintendent to ensure all required materials are ready before the project start date.
  • Adhere to fulfillment guidelines as defined during the training and onboarding process
  • Progress Tracking - Assist Project Managers & Field Superintendents in monitoring job progress, alerting the Manager of any potential delays.
  • Change Order Support - Assist with identifying change notice opportunities; prepare all necessary change order paperwork to be forwarded to the customer.
  • Follow up to obtain signed change orders before commencing any related work.
  • Monitor labor and material purchase orders, ensuring proper receiving processes are followed.
 

What you bring

  • Associate's Degree, BA, BS, or Construction Management degree
  • Work experience may substitute for a degree:
    • 0-1 years of experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience in elevator or related building systems industry
  • Familiarity with SAP, Lotus Notes, and project management software like Procore
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints Required
  • Strong financial acumen
