EH&S Manager

 

Your main responsibilities

This position can be based in Pittsburgh, Michigan, Cincinnati, Detroit, Indiana, Toledo or Cleveland locations.

•    Provide assistance with training coordination and execution and providing feedback based on observations and inspections. 
•    The Safety Manager shall monitor environmental health and safety regulations and provides technical support to area and territory personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state or local EH&S regulations.  
•    A key function of this role will be to monitors the collection of data within his/her territory related to EH&S, specifically prevention activities, leading and lagging indicators for the entire area and develop a process with the Senior Manager of Environmental Health and Safety.
•    Assist with the preparation of local written safety and health programs and policies, including any site-specific safety plans for larger projects.
•    Supports sales team members with the development of bids as required specific to EH&S.
•    Provides training program guidance for quarterly training programs.  Promotes safety and health awareness using company training programs, safety alerts, methods alerts, stand ups and district/territory/area initiatives.
•    Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims.
•    Reviews all incidents within their area of responsibility to include not only incidents resulting in personal injury, but incidents with property damage or had the potential to result in a serious injury or fatality.

 

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety preferred or Elevator industry experience commensurate with the position may replace a formal degree
  • CSP or CHST Certification preferred
  • 5-8 years construction industry
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards with regard to construction        
  • Ability to train, influence and motivate team members        
  • Problem solving & analysis skills        
  • General business acumen & Collaboration skills        
  • Strong understanding management system implementation        
  • General business acumen        
  • Microsoft Proficiency (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)    
  • Comfortable with 70-75% travel
