Manager - Research & Development
Your main responsibilities
Objectives of the function
- Oversees all Escalator Division R&D activities within INW, encompassing Management, Research and Development.
- Manages resources for R&D within INW, formulating strategic goals and plans to drive achievement and success.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives and global R&D functions.
- Drive global and local design cost out initiatives and support local INW functions in achieving their targets.
- Lead product and cost benchmarking in the designated market area.
- Discover and implement new technologies for competitive advantage, including patent strategy with global R&D functions and Inventio.
- Foster organizational growth, leadership development, and implement company policies.
- Build relationships with local government and social organizations to promote Schindler design and industry influence encompassing escalator code and standards activities (IS, BIS, ..) in alignment with global R&D functions.
- Direct and implement R&D policies, objectives, and initiatives.
- Collaborate with business units and top management on R&D initiatives.
- Manage R&D INW budget, evaluating technical efficiency and adjusting as necessary.
- Prepare budgets and presentations for corporate management and other units.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, safety, and energy requirements, achieving annual EHS and sustainable development goals
What you bring
Education
- Minimum: Master or above degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering
Professional experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in multinational MNC R&D, or related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Experience in the Elevator and Escalator industry is a plus.
- Excellent in general Mechanical System understanding.
Languages
- English: excellent and fluent (text and speech)

- Expertise in Engineering, Digitalization, Processes, technology management, and patent processes
- Proven leadership and team-building skills with strong empathy
- Strong financial, legal, and analytical skills with effective decision-making
- Can quickly understand a wide range of different engineering topics and problems
