Payroll Specialist (Executive- Deputy Manager)
Your main responsibilities
Position: Payroll Specialist
Location: Chakan, Pune
Roles & Responsibilities
Payroll Management –
- Ensuring timely payroll process and accurate payout for large set of employees
- Coordinate with stakeholder for collecting payroll inputs and its validation before submission to Payroll agency.
- Maintaining Payroll records and keeping track of period base payouts.
- Ensuring that payroll is accurate and compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Coordination with Payroll agency for getting Payroll reports, Provisions and ensure timely submission with Finance for accounting.
- Coordinate with agency for Income tax investment declaration and submission of actual proofs of employees.
- Effective management of employee’s queries/request through ticketing tool.
- Preparing and submission of Leave and gratuity data for actuarial report.
- Coordination with gratuity trust for settlement of gratuity claims.
- Preparing and submission of ad-hoc payroll report/data as per requirement of stakeholder.
- Staying updated with the latest payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws of state and central.
- Arrangement & submission of required documentation for the death claims for Insurances and social security benefits.
- Effective Exit management – Timely processing of full and final settlement and payment.
- Implementing and adherence of Maker-Checker for payroll inputs and ad hoc payouts.
- Conducing periodic payroll audits to find out inaccuracies and discrepancies.
- Ensure to submit required data in various audits and addressing all queries of auditors.
- Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information.
- Active participation in process improvement initiatives of Payroll and HR processes.
Employee Query Management-
- To manage employee queries, especially through the online tool, on a time bound manner
Statutory Compliance –
- Timely submission of employee’s data including new hires for registration under various laws / statutory benefits schemes.
- Ensure to timely & accurate submission of statutory deduction reports to compliance vendor for generating challans / submission of compliance data.
- Co-ordinate with Finance for statutory payouts / remittance well before due date.
- Co-ordinate with compliance vendor for PF claim settlements of exit and active employees.
- Submission of compliance data to stakeholder as per customer requirements in collaboration with Business and compliance vendor.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- Good in written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with excellent interpersonal skills.

- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.

What you bring
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Accounting/ Finance / HR.
- 10 plus years of experience in handling payroll activities for more than 4000+ Employees.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, labour laws, taxation, and statutory compliance in India.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Knowledge of Excel with Macros will be added advantage.
- Knowledge of Indian tax regulations, including TDS, and income tax provisions.
- Good organisational and time management skills to meet strict payroll deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
