Field Operations Manager - New Installations & Modernizations
Your main responsibilities
The Field Operations Manager - New Installations & Modernizations is responsible for managing new installations, and modernization operational activities through conforming to customer and company requirements as related to safety, cost improvement and customer satisfaction in support of Branch/District objectives. The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for managing, coaching and training field employees as well as maintaning health and safety requirements.
Leadership
- Lead District/Branch in the development of operational plans in support of the company and District/Branch new installations and modernization objectives
- Monitor and ensure new installations and modernization execution activities are managed to meet budgetary requirements, and meet or exceed financial goals and expectations of department
People Management
- Provide leadership and direction to the new installations and modernization operations team
- Manage direct reports through providing mentorship, guidance and constructive feedback to promote employee development and ensure training requirements are met
- Actively support Health and Safety initiatives by integrating safe work practices into operational procedures, participating in training activities and promoting a culture of safety
- Participate in company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of elevator company products, services and procedures
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees
Project/Process Management
- Oversee project management and scheduling activities, and hold responsibility for the outcome of new installation and modernization jobs
- Ensure department is compliant with ISO requirements and other Schindler BDPs as they relate to New Installations and Modernization
- Review New Installations and Modernization specifications and drawings
- Interface with local consultants for large or complex new installations and modernization projects
- Act as the spokesperson for the District/Branch on issues related to the new installations and modernization product line, including order processing
Customer Orientation
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, consultants, architects, contractors and developers
- Communicate to both customer and internal operations the necessary information so as to assure customer satisfaction
- Assess and follow customer needs/complaints to satisfactory resolution
- Prepare and maintain required customer information and files in accordance with established procedures
What you bring
- Post Secondary – preferably in Business or Engineering
- 5-8 years in elevator industry or related experience, or a similar industry which includes the sales and servicing of capital equipment, with at least 3-5 of those years is a senior supervisory or management position

- Proficient in MS Office
