**This role can be based out of a Schindler office in Boston, MA; Hartford, CT; Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD or Washington, DC 

 

Schindler is hiring a Service Operations Manager to lead service fulfilment related activities within the territories and provide training, development, and leadership to the service employees in the district offices. The position will report to the Area Service Operations Manager and be based in the Northeast portion of the Area.

 

The Service Operations Manager will provide management of company’s activities and functions relating to the ongoing repair, maintenance and retention of all products existing within our portfolio as well as partnering as necessary with the General Managers in the Area to support any acquisition and recovery efforts for units outside our portfolio within an assigned geographic span.

  

Responsibilities include:

  • Working directly with territory leadership to ensure effective cost management across all districts with a strong focus on labor, material, and expense management to deliver profitability expectations.
  • Takes an active leadership role in the overall safety culture of the area with regards to both employee and public safety by partnering closely with Area FQE/Safety leadership (Job Quality/Safety site activities, Safety Committee engagement).
  • Mentor service supervisors and IUEC employees to ensure proper training and development of talent within the area.
  • Develop and implement service management strategies within the area with strong emphasis on Fulfilment, Operational Excellence, efficiency improvement and route planning.
  • Champion the connectivity efforts within the area by becoming an Ahead product expert and holding teams accountable for proactively connecting the portfolio.
  • Set expectations for Field Technician engagement and provide Superintendents with the support necessary to provide ongoing training and performance management essential to productivity and quality improvement and ensuring the active participation of all technicians in performance reviews. 
  • Provide expert technical knowledge for any project that needs additional oversight or intervention. 
 

Your Experience

Education: 

  • High school education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience

  

Work Experience: 

  • 5+ years elevator industry experience with strong technical skills  
  • Strong leadership skills, self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively develop expectations and relationships with internal and external customers
  • Needs to be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft based computer software
