Mechanical Engineer Intern - Summer 2026

 

Your main responsibilities

Elevator Products Corporation is looking for a Summer 2025 Mechanical Engineer Intern to work under the direction of the Sr. Mechanical Product Engineer to support our product development and process improvement initiatives. 

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components for elevator industry  

  • Help analyze and solve complex product design, application, manufacturing, installation and service problems  

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software components  

  • Support prototyping, testing, and documentation activities, including troubleshooting and performance evaluation  

  • Help prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and testing reports  

  • Support competitive analysis activities of product designs and report findings  

  • Assist in Design, modifications, and/or application of components and systems using engineering methods and techniques to meet specified technical objectives on time  

  • Support design for manufacturability activities and comprehend manufacturing limitations  

  • Comprehend architectural and structural building drawings  

  • Review customer submittals (and mark ups) and discuss changes with appropriate cross-functional teams   

  • Organize, track and keep records of drawing and documents in archive  

 

What you bring

Requirements: 

  • Currently Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field  

  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ProE, CATIA, Inventor)  

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.  

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.  

  • Willingness to learn new concepts and skills  

Preferences: 

  • Familiarity with general manufacturing processes and practices  

  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills  

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills  

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
