Purpose of Position:


The Manager, Application Engineering is responsible for the daily management of a team of engineers in the fulfillment of application engineering solutions, technical training, and process compliance.


The position will engage and be a critical link in the project life cycle, driving engineering execution, delivery, and innovation in the areas of mechanical and/or electrical engineering.


    • Workload Management: Lead the transition of projects from sales into engineering for assigned projects. Manage workload capacity analysis and assignment for active project backlog and new sales.
    • Deliverable Management: Responsible for the on-time performance of all engineering deliverables (submittals, change orders, order generation, customer/field communications). Drive KPIs to validate performance and accelerate improvement.
    • Customer Management: Single point of contact, by product line, between field operations and engineering.  Meet and exceed Service Level Agreement requirements.
    • Engineering Mentorship: Provide training, coaching, and mentoring in processes, tools, and documentation in support of daily operations. Foster a culture of communication and  development in support of future career trajectory.


Scope of Responsibility:

    • Serve as engineering counterpart for field operations on low to mid-rise elevator systems for new installations throughout the Fulfilment process.
    • Responsible for workload capacity planning and deliverable management.
    • Ensure accuracy of order documentation and compliance of Corporate Standards by leading quality initiatives.
    • Conduct timely technical performance reviews of direct report engineers.                                 
    • Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and development of direct report engineers.                                 
    • Measure and drive improvement of direct report performance to achieve and exceed defined metrics.
    • Facilitate cross-functional support between departments and products to drive company initiatives and product updates.
    • Responsible for all human resources and administrative functions of an engineering team of 6-10 direct reports
    • Strong advocate for employee culture, noting the success of an organization is directly related to the culture and employee engagement.

Your Experience


Are you right for us?


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Advanced degree preferred



  • 3-5 years of experience working in the elevator industry, and/or industry technical program management
  • Strong knowledge of elevator systems
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD
  • Experience working in cross functional roles across direct/indirect reports



  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office, MS-Project, SAP
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships
  • Strong business acumen, project management planning
